Returnable Non-returnable Material Outward softwareInward and outward of stock items is usually managed by a stock and inventory application. However, non-stock items like movable assets, IT equipment like laptop, PC, smart terminal etc. is not a part of standard inventory system.

For e.g. a Server monitor has to be taken out of the organization for repairs. Such a transaction requires approval from departmental head, stores and may be excise (Accounts) department. The security at the main gate allows the material out only if all the authorizations are in place. Moreover, if the material is to be returned after repairs, a reminder and alert will be required before and after due dates.

We recently implemented Returnable non-returnable Material Outward software at a multinational Pharmaceutical company. The application is hosted locally and is used by about 700 employees. It will be used at 42 locations after successful implementation at the first site.

Need of Returnable non-returnable Material Outward software

The following requirements are addressed

  • Three user Roles – Outward Initiator, Outward Authorizer and Security.
  • The material outward approval workflow is defined for each department. For e.g. for QA, first the department head approves an outward request, then an approver from excise department approves and finally security inspects and allows the item to be out-warded.
  • Outwards can be returnable or non-returnable.
  • Outward gate pass contains barcodes for easy retrieval of information.
  • For returnable outwards, expected date of return (EDR) to be stored.
  • Inward of returnable material to be  tallied with outward
  • Email/SMS alerts are sent to a predefined group of users.
